It’s the last weekend of 2017 and I think it’s probably time to make a little annoucementand extend #followfriday to our own interests for a change.
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported us over the last few weeks – especially our family. You know who you are.
And this is why.
Most of you already know that we are in the throes of moving.. and not only have we found the perfect house for the three of us, but we also now have the means to establish an independent business here in France.
Palm Tree Media continues and nothing will change there, but I will also be established (doing much the same work as I do now) independently here in France.
The big difference is that we will also have a secondary income…. which brings me back to the house.
Part of it is annexed as a separate apartment which we will be letting as a holiday home/gite
We’ve called the gite ‘La Roseraie’ – The Rose Garden. It’s accessed via a rose lined path and roses have been popping up for us everywhere (everything from a dream about grandad Rose, to a grubby cheese plate we found in a brocante) since we signed the contract.
So La Roseraie it is.
We are not in the house yet so I can’t share any internal photos, and although the website is live, it is still being built (by me obvs!). Facebook and Instagram are live and active though. (Click the image below for our FB page and give us a like!)
The apartment has enough room for 4 adults (2 on a sofa bed in the lounge) plus we can add a child’s cot and an extra camp style bed if needed and there’s plenty of parking, a South facing veranda/balcony and a cool, shady garden area for very hot summer days.
It has a modern shower in the bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, WiFi and a big smart TV.
It’s situated on a very peaceful part of the river so photographers can just step out of the gate and start stalking the kingfishers and herons – but at the same time it’s just a short walk into town.
The bedroom and lounge windows have shutters to keep the midday heat out and ensure that you don’t get woken up too early when the sun rises in the summer (I’ve become very familiar with how very important that is since living here!)
Pets are welcome (dogs will love the river walks), there’s loads of parking space, a secure storage area for bikes and there’s even enough space to park a camper/caravan if you feel like a stop off in a proper bed on your way through France.
We are open all year round, with discounts for longer stays, a uniformed services rate, proper discounts for our mates or a referral bonus if you send someone to us!
Our first trial guests are already booked in for mid-Feb but all being well we will be open from March 1st!
Hugest thanks to everyone that has helped so far. I won’t mention names, but we are so fortunate to be blessed with the best friends and family, both near and far.
